Butterfly Motorcoach Bus Seats

Butterfly Motorcoach is a version of the Butterfly concept that is specially adapted for long-distance buses and coaches.  Designed with simplified mechanisms and sturdy construction to match the economics of the coach market, this lower-cost version of the Butterfly concept brings the comfort of airline-style long-haul business class seating to the motorcoach industry. With the same kind of flexibility as the Butterfly aircraft seat, Butterfly Motorcoach bus seating is set to open up new opportunities for intercity bus and coach services.

Butterfly Motorcoach’s ability to quickly transform between 2-seaters and flatbed suites creates new business models for bus operators. During the night, operators can offer intercity long-distance sleeper services with flatbeds that allow passengers to sleep overnight and arrive refreshed. During daytime when demand for sleeper service is limited, operators can opt for twice the number of seats to sell cheaper tickets on shorter routes. This enables much higher utilization of the vehicles to minimize capital expenditure and maximize profit.

Butterfly Motorcoach is modeled after airline-style long-haul business class seating but at a much lower price point, yet keeping all the essentials to give passengers space, comfort, and privacy. This FMVSS (U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) compliant product has a minimum seat pitch of 47”, and with a tip-to-tip bed length of over 78” and a bed width of over 40” at the hips, these all-aisle-access flatbeds give passengers ample room to stretch out.
