About Us

Based in Hong Kong, Butterfly Flexible Seating Solutions commercializes flexible seating concepts in the world of air, rail, and road transportation. We are affiliated with the award-winning design studio Paperclip Design, founded by 3-time Crystal Cabin Award winner James Lee. Known for inventive, functional, and space-efficient solutions, we are currently striving to bring our Butterfly seat to the aircraft interiors market.

As a startup, we have a flat corporate structure- each member of the team has great impact on the future direction of the company. We are based in Fotan, and our own 5,000 sqft workshop is well-equipped with various machines such as laser-cut, CNC, & 3D printers.

Belfast Engineering Office

In April 2021, we’ve opened our branch company, Butterfly Engineering Ltd (BFEN) in Belfast, Northern Ireland. BFEN was established to advance the engineering development and certification of the seat by making use of the local talent pool of experts in Northern Ireland.
